Whisker President is a 3D puzzle management game in Unity about a secret service agent (you) who is responsible for guiding a cat to be the president.
Experience a wrangling puzzle management environment as you guide your cat to stamp all of the right bills at the right time. You have a laser pointer, some yarn, and a ton of focus at your disposal.
Whisker President takes players on a fun adventure filled with campaigns, distractions, cats and more cats. Mysteriously the president became a cat in a suit and now you have to help the cat do what he needs to do without getting him caught and distracted from the job. Discover, experiment, and stamp as you survive through various days of the presidential campaign!
Navigate the challenges of presidential life, from rival candidates to scandalous distractions never seen before in the white house.
This is my capstone game project from Game Design Studio and Game Production Studio series for my final year at UCSC. I worked in a team of about fourteen people consisting of technical programmers and artists. I cooperated with five main game engineers to design and implement gameplay features.
I am responsible for all user interfacing elements in the game, including controls and countdown timer. I also iterate features for the raycasting of laser point to bills, sound effects, Chinese localized text, and other gameplay bug fixes.
Production Pivots:
1. Add an economy that is affected by bills (Completed)
- sinks and drains system based on food, technology, and infrastructure resources
2. Make multiple social media accounts for the game (Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Tiktok) and post 10+ times (Completed)
3. Build/connect an alternate controller for the game (Completed)
- implemented wii support
Responsibilities:
- Implemented the main menu scene, controls UI, newspaper, and gameplay countdown timer
- Programmed in HTML/CSS and deployed an archival/development website on Github Pages
- Crafted C# scripting style guide for programmers
- Coordinated development of 3D collision physics and prefab procedural generation
- Scripted sunlight day and night system using directional light rotation
- Localized game for Simplified Chinese using string tables and assets
- Posted gameplay videos, devlogs, and promotional content on social media
